The journey to your destination felt longer than usual. You were absent-mindingly rubbing the petals of the single crimson rose with your thumb and index finger as you watched the passing scenery outside. The weather was a bit on the cloudy side. Reflecting how you felt inside.
Your smartphone which was in your brown long coat broke the silence with a soft 'ding', indicating that a new message just arrived. You reach into the pocket and took out the the light blue object. Just as you thought, the message was from Yuchan, telling you that he had arrived. You reply with an 'ok' and a 'see you soon' before placing back your phone in its original place.
Before you knew it, the bus came to halt, at a bus stop near your actual destination. You waited as two other passengers got up from their seats and proceeded to the door to exit. You followed shortly, becoming the last person to get off at that stop. Somehow doing so helped you feel secure.
As you stepped off the bus, and looked in front; you were greeted by a tall young lad, who had a large smile plastered on his face whilst giving a little wave of his hand. In return you gave a small smile and made your way to him. You couldn't help but study his lean figure, from his long legs to his broad shoulders and his ruffled messy hair.
"Long time no see noona" he beams.
"No kiddin, it sure has been awhile", you answer as you find yourself tilting your head upwards a bit to meet his eye contact.
"Shall we go?" He says with a gesture of his hand.
You nod and off you both went.
The columbarium felt still, just a few distant sobs and weeps filled the hallways. Once in awhile, your eyes glanced at the glassed cabinets and observed the numbers and names.
After a few more steps, there it was. The one you both came for. Your steps gradually became slower as you came closer. You opened the glass door and placed your crimson rose inside, and made way for the lad you were with to put his. Then, you touched on the glass gently as you looked into the portrait in front of you. Those bright pair of eyes somewhat felt like they were comforting you; telling you that it is alright. That it was never because of you. That you were going to be okay.
"I'm sorry for skipping a year Yejin-ah" you exclaim, with your palm still resting on the glass.
To be continued...
p.s. This is was supposed to be a one shot from what I remember but I'm kind of adding more details as I write so I decided to divide to parts. I am also testing to see what length should I do in one post so it won't be too much.
Regarding the title of this au, I am still trying to come up with one btw. We'll see :))
Also since I just started this site, do comment on how you think the font and size are? And the overall look and design. Or anything at all! Thank you so so much for stopping by and I hope you will look forward to the next part. ;D Have a good day!
