My beginnings as a kpop fangirl: Part 1

I don't know why but this Taecyeon gif spoke to my heart amidst choosing a suitable gif for this post.

I am going to start a series on here on how I became a fangirl and basically how I came to find each of the groups I stan; be it casual stan or actual stan. I haven't been that invested in kpop lately, just checking out recent comebacks and listening to them while washing the dishes. Anyways what brought me to start this series was because everytime I listen to a certain song, it always brings me back to the moment I first heard it. Some songs being the main reason I started to get into them.

So let's cut to the chase.

I will first start with my first exposure ever to kpop. If I recall, i was exposed to Kdrama first before kpop I believe. It started with me catching my older sister secretly watching BOF by herself. Oop but for kdrama that will be an entire different series. Girls generation was the first I think, but even that time I didn't get into them yet. My older girl cousins were sones, and they often watched their performances at my grandparents house.

After awhile tho, when i discovered Gee; I became obsessed. I loved the music video so much with all the colors and fun dances. I would watch it over and over on the small screen of my older brother's Sony Ericson smartphone. I think I was 9 or 10 years old that time.

Next was Big Bang. (Disclaimer: my memory is the worst so the order of these all might be incorrect but I can assure you that these were all close to each other that is all). My older brother was the one who introduced them to me and my sisters.

*additional info; My older sister is a huge stay, nctzen and myday while my lil sis is an ahgase. But all three of us are multistans so we have a long list of semi/sub stans as well haha

Back to Big Bang. Our brother showed us the music video of Lie, the memory is still vivid in my memory. A core memory truly. The four of us were huddled in front of our grandpa's desktop, mind-blown watching the music video and having our brains and ears pleased with the music we were listening to. It was a music video, but had an entire movie going around in it. Never seen before! So that is how we found big bang.

Then it was 2pm, but to be honest, I'm not really sure how I found them and checked them out properly, but my first encounter was pretty funny. In Malaysia, we have this big exam that we must take in Grade 6 of primary school (for public schools that it). We take it somewhere in October/September i think. So the entire year is focused on that big exam. After the exam period, the grade 6 kids are free until school holiday, so we'd have school activities replace our learning syllabus like going on trips to museums, games and such. There was one time we DIY a wooden pencilbox, and one of my classmate had decorated hers with the words 2PM all over hers. I was like, why do like 2pm so much? is that your favorite time of the day? XD Later on, I discovered them through Dream high! Which was where I found Suzy (MissA), IU and Got7 (2nd season).

Woah okay this post has gotten pretty long. I think that would be all for this time. These groups are what got me into Kpop basically. I will continue with my discovery of the other groups I stan in next posts.
